Two of Nativity's students will be advancing to compete in the State Championships for the Readers' Digest National Word Power Challenge to be held in Reading Pennsylvania on March 18th.  Rachel Adler, an eighth grade student and Deanna Bucci, a seventh grade student,  have completed the classroom and grade level competitions successfully by answering a variety of oral and written questions regarding vocabulary, word definitions, antonyms, words from other languages and words describing different themes and topics.

The first place winners from each state will advance to a national competition to be held in April at Walt Disney World in Florida.  The national first place winner will receive a $25,000 college scholarship;  the national second place winner will receive a $15,000 college scholarship, and the national third place winner will receive a $10,000 college scholarship.  National first, second and third place winners will also receive Readers' Digest products for their school.

Nativity's staff and faculty join in wishing Deanna and Rachel the very best of luck at the State Championships.
